On November 8th, We Vote to Protect Our Freedoms.

37.png

Make the Road Action in Pennsylvania builds political power rooted in working-class communities and promotes policies that improve the lives of all. We know the struggles that our neighbors across PA are facing to make ends meet, with jobs that don’t pay enough and costs rising. To meet the needs of working families and ensure everyone has the freedom to thrive, we need stable, family-sustaining jobs, adequate pay for our work, and affordable housing and health care.

Right now, Democrats at the federal and state level support us on these important issues, while MAGA Republicans oppose them all. These same extremist MAGA Republicans want to eliminate all abortion rights and are pushing for more guns to flood our streets.

We cannot afford to let these extremist Republicans win in November. We must stand up and vote to protect the freedoms we have won and keep pushing for more. We must elect John Fetterman to become our U.S. Senator and Josh Shapiro to become our Governor.

Our Recommendations
For Your Ballot:

  • While serving as mayor of Braddock for 13 years, John created jobs, engaged youth, and developed urban policies that improved the city.

  • Since assuming the office of Lt.Governor, John has advocated for good-paying jobs for all Pennsylvanians. He supports increasing the minimum wage and expanding job opportunities.

  • Stands up to defend women’s reproductive rights.

  • Fights to lower the costs of prescription drugs and take on big corporations to lower the cost of everyday needs.

  • Will lead the charge to increase funding for public schools and for universal pre-K and childcare.

Josh Shapiro

DEMOCRAT FOR GOVERNOR

  • Josh has long supported the needs of working families. He has backed legislation that invests in public education and creates jobs in clean energy.

  • He continues to oppose MAGA Republicans who push lies and try to restrict voting rights in an effort to undermine democracy.

  • He stands up for people’s reproductive rights, and works to keep communities safe and protects our civil rights.

  • Supports ensuring a living wage for all Pennsylvania residents, starting with a $15 minimum wage.

  • Supports bold action to address climate change.

VOTE

Susan Wild

US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISTRICT 7

  • Is working to increase our educators’ pay and equitably fund public education.

  • She has led the fight to protect health care for people with pre-existing conditions, lower the cost of prescription drugs, and ensure that hard-working families have access to affordable health insurance.

  • In 2018 Susan Wild became the first woman to ever represent the Lehigh Valley in Congress, and the only Jewish federally elected Pennsylvania official.

Chrissy Houlahan.png

VOTE

Chrissy Houlahan

US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISTRICT 6

  • Chrissy helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act which will “increase American competitiveness, address our climate crisis, lower costs for families, and fight inflation” according to five, both Democrat and Republican, former U.S. Treasury Secretaries.

  • She co-sponsored the Raise Wage Act to responsibly increase our national minimum wage to $15 an hour. And, led the effort to enact a historic twelve-week paid parental leave policy for federal workers, which I hope will be replicated for all Americans.

  • Houlahan was the first woman ever to be elected to Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District and the first Democrat in 160 years.
